A new blood drive will take place this Wednesday, September 30th, in Chipiona, at the Tolosa Latour Health Center, as part of the Andalusian Health Service campaign.

Under the slogan ‘Your donation matters. Donate blood, give life’, the Transfusion, Tissues and Cells Center of Cádiz, part of the Andalusian Health Service, has organized a drive in Chipiona. The donation day will be held this Wednesday, September 30th, at the Tolosa Latour Health Center, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Citizens also have the option to donate blood every working day at Jerez Hospital and Puerta del Mar Hospital in Cádiz. The donation process is safe, performed with sterile, single-use materials, and includes a confidential interview and a physical examination by a doctor to ensure the safety of both the donor and the recipient.
Updated information on donation locations and times is available on the transfusion centers' social media, on the Andalusian Health Service website under the ‘Donate Blood’ section, and through the free Dona Sangre Andalucía app for Android and iOS devices.
It is reminded that a single donation can improve the lives of up to three people and even save one of them. The basic requirements to donate blood include being between 18 and 65 years old, weighing 50 kilograms or more, not suffering from chronic illnesses or acute infections, not having anemia, and not engaging in risky practices that could facilitate the transmission of diseases such as hepatitis, syphilis, or AIDS. It is mandatory to present a DNI or identification document, and it is recommended not to donate on an empty stomach.
The blood donation process is safe and attended by specialized healthcare personnel who conduct a prior interview and medical check-up. Men can donate up to 4 times a year and women 3 times, with a minimum interval of two months between donations. Specific plasma donors can donate every 15 days.
