Code of Ethics
Last updated: April 2026
This code of ethics sets out the principles that guide the publication of content at La Voz de Andalucía. It applies to all editorial material, without exception.
1. Accuracy and verification
We publish information based on identifiable and verifiable sources. When a fact cannot be confirmed, we say so. We do not publish rumours or speculation as if they were facts.
2. Editorial independence
Editorial content is independent of any commercial, political or personal interest. When an article is sponsored by a company, it is clearly identified as customer-published content and does not influence the editorial coverage of that company or its sector.
We clearly separate informative, opinion and commercial content, and we label each one unambiguously so the reader can tell them apart.
3. Treatment of sources
We cite sources wherever possible. We respect the anonymity of sources who request it when protection is justified, and we do not disclose third parties' private information without consent or a clear public interest.
4. Respect for people
We do not publish content that promotes discrimination on grounds of origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other personal characteristic. We treat people with dignity, particularly victims of crime, accidents or tragedies.
5. Privacy and data protection
We comply with data protection law (GDPR and the Spanish LOPDGDD). We do not identify minors in compromising situations and we do not publish private data without a clear public interest.
6. Corrections
We accept that we can make mistakes. When we do, we correct them transparently under our Corrections Policy.
7. Use of technology in editorial work
We use technological tools, including artificial intelligence, in the editorial process, always under criteria defined by the newsroom team and drawing on legitimate news sources. Content follows the editorial line described in our Editorial Policy.
8. Conflicts of interest
We avoid covering topics in which the editorial team has a direct personal or financial interest. When that is unavoidable, we disclose it.
9. Transparency
We publish our editorial, corrections and privacy policies. We offer a direct contact channel for readers to raise any question about our content.
