The XXIII Meeting of Women's Associations of the Province of Córdoba, held in Palma del Río on September 26, served as the venue for the presentation of this new space. The objective is for women's associations to be able to dialogue directly with the Provincial Council.
Auxiliadora Moreno, the provincial institution's delegate for Equality, highlighted the fundamental role of these associations in the municipalities. She described them as "spaces for participation, meeting, and support," from which needs are identified, proposals are made, and initiatives are driven to improve women's quality of life.
Moreno emphasized the ongoing commitment to real and effective equality, underscoring the importance of working hand in hand with the associations. "They are the ones who best know the realities, needs, and concerns of their municipalities," she stated.
The Council will be open to all women's associations, federations, and non-profit entities that have gender equality promotion and the defense of women's rights in the province of Córdoba among their aims. The Equality delegate described it as "a living, useful, and close body," whose purpose is to strengthen the associative movement and jointly build responses for the province.
The Council's activities will be organized around five main axes: institutional advice, associative strengthening, prevention of sexist violence, gender mainstreaming, and training and awareness-raising.
Over the coming months, technical staff from the Platform for Volunteering of Córdoba will collaborate with associations from the different regions to approve the Council's operating regulations.
