The initiative, organized by the Escuela Nómada f22 and sponsored by the Fundación Unicaja, took place at the local Active Participation Center for Seniors. The program was structured over three days, beginning with a theoretical session on fundamental concepts of light, composition, and the history of imagery as an expressive medium.
On the second day, participants ventured into the streets of La Trinidad to apply their newly acquired knowledge, experimenting with taking photographs and developing a unique perspective to capture everyday details. This practical phase not only fostered creativity but also encouraged camaraderie among attendees.
The workshop concluded with an exhibition of the completed works, a significant moment for the students. For many, seeing their photographs publicly displayed represented recognition of their effort and an opportunity to feel valued, demonstrating that age is no barrier to learning and artistic creation.
“"Seniors never cease to amaze me; they are a great example to follow due to their high motivation and capacity to get excited about new challenges. These days at the CPA in Trinidad have been a good example of this, with all participants demonstrating that it's never too late to learn, create, and."
This activity underscores the relevance of bringing culture and art closer to older adults, as photography stimulates attention, creativity, and memory, in addition to promoting mobility and active participation, helping to combat loneliness by creating spaces for encounter and dialogue.
