The gathering, aimed at professionals and technicians from fields such as nutrition, fertilizers, and plant production, also saw participation from UCO researchers and students across various academic levels. The inauguration was led by Eduardo Moreno, Sales Director of Timac AGRO; Lourdes Arce, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer at UCO; and Blanca Torrent, First Deputy Mayor of the Córdoba City Council.
During the sessions, moderated by Eduardo Moreno, critical topics were addressed, including microbial adaptation for biological control, the advisor's role in agricultural profitability, and biotechnology based on Volatile Organic Compounds to combat plant stress and optimize crop management.
Notable speakers included Antonio Di Pietro, Professor of Genetics at UCO; Manuel López Ostos, Technical Director of Grupo de Prado; Juan José Herrero, Technical Director of Finca la Reina; Francisco López Varona, Manager of AGL Agro; and Ricardo Aguayo, Founder of Land Agrícola. From Timac AGRO, participants included Mario Domingo, Commercial Director; Eduardo Moreno, Sales Director; and Berta Rodríguez, Scientific Coordinator.
The Timac AGRO-UCO Chair of Sustainable Agricultural Nutrition, established in 2021, aims to promote more efficient, innovative, and environmentally friendly agriculture. This collaboration between the University of Córdoba and Timac AGRO seeks to foster training, research, and knowledge transfer in plant nutrition and soil health, connecting science with the business sector to address current agricultural challenges.
