The minors, divided into 12 teams (seven for the ‘Invention Challenge’ and five for the ‘Programming Race’), aim to bring technology closer to young people from an educational, creative, and safe perspective. This was announced by the delegate for Technological Development, Digital Transformation, and Youth of the provincial institution, Sara Alguacil.
The ‘Invention Challenge’ category, aimed at students in 3rd and 4th grade of Primary School, involves designing a game using tools like Scratch and Makey Makey. Teams must present a project to a jury that will evaluate creativity, interactivity, functionality, aesthetics, use of materials, safety, and originality.
Meanwhile, the ‘Programming Race’, for students in 5th and 6th grade of Primary School, requires programming a Maqueen robot to complete a circuit without sensors. Participants must perform the programming during the competition itself, demonstrating their skills in design and execution.
Sara Alguacil announced that the final of this edition will be held in early November, where participating teams will present their creations. She emphasized the importance of promoting initiatives that bring technology closer to young people regardless of their municipality of residence, aiming for a connected and digitized province.
The head of the Department recalled that the Provincial Council of Córdoba was recognized last year with the Vuela Andalucía awards for this initiative, for coordinating the different Puntos Vuela centers for the development of this activity.
