This infrastructure, according to Fuentes, is “vital for the northern part of the province, as it increases the development capacity of the regions of Los Pedroches and Guadiato”. The President of the Provincial Council acknowledged that the inclusion of the axis “opens up very important prospects for employment and growth in our land, the result of collective advocacy efforts by the Provincial Council, the town councils, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and economic and social stakeholders”.
In this regard, he added that the Central Government's rectification “is a recognition of an urgent need that, along with water, shapes the future of our province”. Fuentes, however, called for attention to the remaining objections presented by the Provincial Council of Córdoba, which included the repowering of the Carmona-Villanueva del Rey-Almodóvar-Casillas-Lancha axis, along with a new substation in Lancha, “which is vital for the entire industrial development of the province around the Logistics Base”.
In essence, he stated, “we are at a fundamental starting point, but now it is time to move from announcement to action; we need concrete timelines and guarantees”.
