Conil Hosts XV Garden Route with 23 Establishments and Local Product Market

The gastronomic event in Conil de la Frontera will run until April 19, offering innovative and traditional tapas.

The XV Conil Garden Gastronomic Route, held in Conil de la Frontera, Cádiz, is set to be the first major culinary event of spring, running until April 19 with 23 participating establishments.

During the weekend of April 11 and 12, the area surrounding the Torre de Guzmán will be the hub of this celebration, hosting a gastronomic competition and a tapas exhibition. Participating bars and restaurants will offer unique creations, with prices determined by each venue.
On Saturday, April 11, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the Innovative Cuisine competition will take place. Attendees can enjoy a beverage bar and, from 1:00 PM, taste the elaborate tapas for 3 euros, with drinks at 2 euros, payable in cash. The day will be enlivened by a musical performance by ‘El Arranque’ at 4:00 PM.
Concurrently, on Saturday, April 11 at 11:30 AM, Santa Catalina square will host a Local Products Market. This space will feature the Asociación Tradiciones y Sabores de Conil, Oleo Conil, Cooperativa Nª Sª de las Virtudes, Piñones Mateo Zara, Pancultura, Sancha Pérez, Frutas Ildefonso, and Cooperativa San Patricio.
On Sunday, April 12, the gastronomic competition will focus on Traditional Cuisine, also from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The beverage bar will open at 11:30 AM and the gastronomic exhibition at 1:00 PM, maintaining the same prices. The jury's verdict will be announced at 3:30 PM, followed by a performance by the group Aquel 20 de abril at 4:00 PM.
Among the establishments participating in the gastronomic exhibition on Saturday, April 11 are Restaurante Cádiz 11 with its stuffed piquillo peppers from the garden, La Plazuela Gastrobar with crispy leek and peppers, and Restaurante Malabata with creamy artichoke and mushroom rice. On Sunday, April 12, Restaurante Playa will offer vegetable omelets, Restaurante La Fontanilla will present “The Conil garden slow-cooked,” and Feduchy Conil, cake and coffee with milk.
The route will continue after the weekend, until April 19, in the 23 local establishments, where diners can enjoy a wide variety of dishes with specific prices for each proposal. For example, Bar El Punto de Encuentro will offer a garlic and confit tomato toast with camembert cheese for 5 euros, while La Taberna de las Quince Letras will present wood-fired confit artichokes with 'carril' clams in palo cortado for 18 euros.
