The festival will commence at 5:00 PM in Plaza Fuente Arriba, with Miguel Leiva serving as the presenter. This inaugural edition will feature six traditional music groups, known as 'pandas', performing various styles, dedicating the afternoon to music, traditions, and popular culture.
The event's presentation, organized by the Álora Town Hall, was attended by Mayor Francisco Martínez, alongside representatives from local pandas Los Lagares and El Capitán, who will participate as standard-bearers of the municipality's verdiales tradition.
The lineup is further enhanced by the participation of Panda Los Moras, Panda Jotrón y Lomillas, Panda 1ª de Comares, and Panda Raíces de Almogía, offering the public a diverse experience of different verdiales styles and interpretations.
Through this initiative, the Álora Town Hall aims to preserve, promote, and highlight verdiales, a cultural expression profoundly linked to the identity of Málaga's towns and particularly rooted in Álora.
The municipal government invites all citizens to attend this first edition of the Verdiales Festival, join the celebration at Plaza Fuente Arriba, and partake in a day dedicated to local traditions and identity.
