A total of 748 individuals in the province of Almería are undertaking access exams for intermediate and higher vocational training (FP) cycles, which are being held from April 6 to April 30 across four educational centers.

These examinations are designed for those aspiring to pursue a vocational training cycle but who do not possess the necessary academic prerequisites. Successfully passing these tests will allow them to apply for admission, as they certify the required knowledge and skills for these studies.
Out of the 748 registered candidates in Almería, 468 will take the exams for intermediate level and 280 for higher level. The designated venues for the examinations are IES Alhamilla (Almería), IES Cura Valera (Huércal-Overa), IES Los Ángeles (Almería), and IES Albaida (Almería), where a total of 47 evaluation committees have been established.
The access tests, for both intermediate and higher levels, are structured around three core competencies. The first is communicative competence in Spanish, which includes four exercises: oral expression (personal interview), written expression (essay on a proposed topic), and oral and written comprehension (multiple-choice tests). For oral comprehension, candidates must use headphones during the exercise.
The second, mathematical competence, consists of three multiple-choice exercises related to numbers and calculation, shapes and measurements, and graphs and statistics. Finally, digital competence comprises five multiple-choice tests covering information and digital literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security, and problem-solving.
For higher-level access tests, candidates may also take an optional specific section in addition to the basic competencies. Passing the access test with this specific part will grant priority in admission to publicly funded Vocational Training cycles in Andalucía. This specific section includes an exercise on plurilingual key competence (English) and offers three options: entrepreneurial key competence, technology and engineering, and sciences. Each participant can choose to be examined in one or more of these options, depending on the professional family of the training cycle they wish to access.
The test will be considered passed if the score for all basic competencies is equal to or greater than five points. Provisional results will be published on May 4, with a claims period from May 5 to May 7. Final grades will be announced on May 11.
