The inauguration of the XXI Congress on Labor and Social Security took place this morning at the Aguadulce Congress and Exhibition Palace, Roquetas de Mar. The event, which runs until October 2nd, gathers prominent professionals from the legal, labor, and Social Security fields in Spain, supported by the Official College of Social Graduates of Almería.
The opening ceremony was attended by the president of the Provincial Council of Almería, José Antonio García Alcaina, accompanied by María del Mar Ayala, president of the College of Social Graduates of Almería; Fátima Pérez, dean of Law at the UAL; Eduardo Ruiz, president of the Andalusian Council of Official Colleges of Social Graduates; Juan Fernández, vice-president of the General Council of Official Colleges of Social Graduates of Spain, and Amós García, delegate for Employment of the Regional Government in Almería.
García Alcaina highlighted the work of social graduates in the province's development and praised the congress palace's infrastructure, which facilitates such large-scale events. He emphasized the professionals' role as a legal link and guarantor in the complex relationships between workers, companies, and the Administration.
Furthermore, the president of the Provincial Council pointed out the institutional collaboration with the College, exemplified by a pioneering free legal-labor advisory service for vulnerable groups in small municipalities. This five-year service has assisted individuals and families with labor and Social Security matters, including support for those affected by the fire in Los Gallardos.
Finally, García Alcaina stated that the objectives of social graduates and the Provincial Council's government team align in promoting equal opportunities, retaining population, and ensuring no one is left behind, thereby contributing to a more solidary, egalitarian, and socially just province.
