Almería to Host Andalusian Junior Men's Volleyball Championship

The province will welcome 16 teams from across Andalusia from April 9 to 12, with over 300 participants.

The province of Almería is set to become a hub for Andalusian volleyball talent with the upcoming Andalusian Clubs Junior Men's Volleyball Championship (CADEBA) 2026, scheduled to take place from April 9 to 12 in the capital city and Níjar.

This event, which will gather 16 teams and over 300 participants from all eight Andalusian provinces, was officially presented at the Provincial Council of Almería. The competition will be held across various venues, including the Moisés Ruiz Pavilion, the Antonio Rivera Youth Pavilion, the University of Almería Sports Center, and the Níjar Municipal Pavilion.
During the presentation, María Luisa Cruz, the Sports Deputy, highlighted the championship's significance for the province, stating that it will transform Almería into the “epicenter of grassroots volleyball” during these days. She emphasized that young athletes will have the chance to compete at the highest level and enjoy an experience that promotes coexistence and athletic development.

"From Thursday the 9th until Sunday, the province of Almería will host this championship, bringing together 16 teams from all over Andalusia, making our land the epicenter of grassroots volleyball during these days."

Pablo Martínez, president of the Unicaja Costa de Almería Volleyball Club, explained that the tournament brings together the “antechamber of senior volleyball,” featuring players aged 18 and 19, ensuring an exceptional level of competition in the youth categories. The participating teams are the champions and runners-up from each Andalusian province.
A notable moment of the championship will be on Saturday, April 11, when the competition will pause at 5:00 PM to allow all participants to attend a Men's Superliga match between Voleibol Unicaja Costa de Almería and Club Voleibol Guaguas, offering a top-tier experience to the young talents.

Antonio Casimiro, Almería's Sports Councillor, stressed that the city possesses optimal conditions for hosting sports events and highlighted the importance of fair play and respect, as reflected in the motto “Ok to fair play” and “No game without respect.” Meanwhile, Jesús Guerrero, Sports Councillor for Níjar, expressed his municipality's pride in being one of the venues for this prestigious championship.
