The intervention, which involved an investment of 681,700 euros, has corrected the alignment of a particularly dangerous curve at kilometer 0+700, which originally had characteristics of a rural path. The project included the construction of a new 537.23-meter axis, featuring straight sections and smoothed curves, significantly enhancing circulation conditions and user comfort for the thousands of vehicles that use this road daily.
This action addresses a long-standing demand from municipalities such as Armilla, Las Gabias, Vegas del Genil, and Churriana de la Vega, whose residents use this road to access the capital. The improvement also involved widening the bridge over the Monachil river to accommodate the new alignment, employing technical solutions that respect the riverbed's conditions.
“"It is an important day for the province and for the residents of these municipalities who have seen the road connecting to Granada improved, where the carriageway has been widened to avoid the main black spot in the provincial road network."
The President of the Provincial Council, Francis Rodríguez, along with the Deputy of Public Works, José Ramón Jiménez, inaugurated the works. They were accompanied by the mayoress of Granada, Marifrán Carazo; the mayoress of Armilla, Loli Cañavate; the mayoress of Vegas del Genil, María del Carmen Ros; and the mayor of Churriana de la Vega, Antonio Narváez. The municipal representatives expressed gratitude for the institutional collaboration on this project, considered a crucial advancement for safety and mobility on this access route to Granada.
