The new cohort consists of 34 professionals, selected from over a hundred applications, reflecting the growing interest in this specialized training. In its previous four editions, the master's program has already trained 183 professionals.
The inauguration was attended by the rector of UNIA, José Ignacio García Pérez; the Director General of Care, Sociosanitary Attention, Mental Health and Addictions of the Junta de Andalucía, José Ángel Lázaro Mármol; and the Managing Director of EASP, Blanca Botello Díaz.
José Ignacio García highlighted the collaboration with EASP and the program's quality, emphasizing UNIA's pleasure in contributing to nurses' specialization to improve care for patients in delicate situations.
José Ángel Lázaro Mármol pointed out that Advanced Practice Nursing is crucial for addressing the healthcare system's challenges of chronicity and complexity. He confirmed the Junta de Andalucía's commitment to promoting their training and clinical leadership.
Blanca Botello Díaz stressed that the master's degree represents a firm commitment to excellence in training, tailored to the current and future needs of the healthcare system, and that the collaboration with UNIA allows offering a high academic quality title.
The master's degree addresses current healthcare challenges, such as population aging and chronicity, providing clinical, research, leadership, and management competencies. The program, with 60 ECTS credits (1,500 semi-presential hours), combines face-to-face and virtual activities with a practical approach.
The training will cover areas such as care quality, clinical leadership, research methodology, evidence-based practice, chronic care management, case management, pharmacology, and nurse prescribing.
The inaugural lecture was given by professor Begoña García Navarro (University of Huelva) on advanced care. Subsequently, officials from various integral plans in Andalucía analyzed the role of Advanced Practice Nursing in the strategies of the Andalusian Public Health System (SSPA).
The program, which will run until December 2, 2027, reaffirms the close collaboration between EASP and UNIA to ensure academic training of the highest level, connected to professional practice.
With this fifth edition, both institutions reinforce their commitment to training highly qualified professionals who drive innovative and person-centered care models, strengthening the healthcare system's capacity to meet present and future challenges.
