This municipal decision follows the validation of documentation by CEMOSA, a company specializing in engineering and quality control in construction, responsible for the building's technical monitoring. Municipal technicians reviewed the information until late Saturday to ensure a safe return.
The City Council reported that the evacuation order is lifted once the correct implementation of provisional measures and the correction of deficiencies in the basement have been confirmed. The mayor highlighted the uncertainty experienced by the families and the Council's commitment to expedite their return.
During the evacuation period, the Council assisted families without alternative housing and ensured the building's stability. However, the return comes with restrictions: the basement parking, elevator, and pedestrian and vehicular access to this level will remain closed.
Furthermore, weekly inspections by the property's management or a designated external company will be required. The Homeowners' Association has also been granted a 20-day extension to complete pending work.
