The Alhaurín el Grande City Council has approved the bases for a new public employment call, which will offer 15 positions for permanent staff through a competitive examination process.

The Local Government Board of the Alhaurín el Grande City Council has greenlit the bases for a new public employment call. The objective is to fill 15 positions for permanent staff, to be awarded through a competitive examination selection process, ensuring the principles of equality, merit, and capacity.
The call includes positions from various municipal areas and services, aiming to strengthen the City Council's staff in key areas for the operation and provision of public services. Specifically, one first-class gardening officer, one first-class metal carpentry officer, two plumbing officers, two masonry officers, one masonry laborer, two cleaning operators, two street cleaning operators, two crane truck drivers, and two sound and image technicians are being offered.
Of the total positions, two will be reserved for individuals with disabilities, in accordance with current regulations. The process aims to ensure that all individuals meeting the established requirements can participate under equal conditions, through a public and selective process.
The mayor of Alhaurín el Grande and Councilor for Personnel, Anthony Bermúdez, highlighted the City Council's personnel policy during the current term, stating that "in just three years of government, 10 public employment calls have been held and 25 permanent positions have been offered at the City Council".
Bermúdez emphasized that this new call aligns with the government team's commitment to modernizing the municipal administration and basing selection processes on "transparency, equality, merit, and capacity," with the goal of "building a more democratic, transparent, and just City Council".
The Councilor for Employment, Luis Miguel Molina, encouraged interested individuals to participate, calling it "this opportunity to access a stable job at the Alhaurín el Grande City Council." He compared the figure to that of the previous Popular Party government, which in 23 years convened "only eight positions," compared to the 25 offered in less than three years by the current team.
The Councilor for Public Works, Housing, and Sustainable Development, Teresa Sánchez, highlighted the change in direction regarding personnel, emphasizing that the call "demonstrates the effort to profoundly change the City Council's personnel policy," promoting open procedures that ensure equal opportunities in accessing public employment.
This call is in addition to other initiatives by the City Council to strengthen and stabilize its municipal staff. Furthermore, the mayor has announced an upcoming public employment offer to fill six civil servant positions, continuing the municipal planning in personnel matters.
Through these actions, the Alhaurín el Grande City Council aims to consolidate a municipal administration with a more stable workforce, adequate to the needs of public services, through open and public selection processes that guarantee equal opportunities for all applicants.
