The Almería-based institution is the only public university in Andalusia to have all its projects subsidized, totaling an amount of 299,085 euros. This achievement places the UAL close to the maximum funding limit of 300,000 euros per institution set by the call's guidelines.
This success is the result of the strategy promoted by the UAL's International Development Cooperation Area, which included a specialized training program for Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) and Technical, Management, and Administrative Services Staff (PTGAS) on the technical formulation of cooperation projects. The training was key to the proposals receiving the highest technical evaluation from AACID.
Among the funded initiatives, the project ‘COOPERA360°: Promotion of International Cooperation for Development at the University of Almería’ stands out, having received 79,085 euros. This project will enable the relaunch and promotion of the international volunteer program for the entire university community, including prior training, field stays in developing countries in collaboration with organizations such as the Andalusian Coordinator of ONGDs (CAONGD) and RedAVI, as well as the annual celebration of the UAL's International Cooperation Week.
These funds will allow the University of Almería to consolidate field training experiences, extend its awareness-raising actions to both the campus and the wider Almería community, and enhance the generation of new contracts, research projects, and international strategic alliances.
With this full approval rate and the capture of the maximum financial cap, the UAL solidifies its institutional strategy and strengthens its position as a benchmark within the Andalusian university cooperation system and in the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
