The City Council of Alcalá la Real has greenlit several highly relevant matters for the municipality. Among these, the approval of the contracting process for municipal sports facility coordination services, the local grassroots sports plan, multidisciplinary sports monitors, municipal sports schools, activities in villages, lifeguarding, and public attention at municipal sports facilities stands out. This contract, tendered on August 4th on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, aims to ensure continuity for a service that caters to over 2,000 users and adapts to recent growth.
The new tender includes a total of 36,299 service hours, increasing coverage compared to the previous contract. Services covered include sports facility coordination, lifeguarding at municipal pools, specialist technical staff for sports activities, sports school and gym instructors, and public attention. A significant novelty is the application of the 1st Collective Agreement of Andalusia for Public Sports Services Contracts, which will lead to improved working conditions and a substantial salary increase for current staff, whose subrogation must be guaranteed by the awarded company.
The contract will have an initial duration of two years, with a possible one-year extension, and an estimated value of €2,684,787.87. Interested companies can submit their bids until September 2nd, with the goal of the new service becoming operational between mid-October and early November.
Additionally, two urban planning licenses have been granted to E-Distribución Redes Digitales S.L.U. to enhance the municipality's electrical infrastructure, with a combined investment exceeding €950,000. The first license pertains to the Alcalá la Real 66/20 kV electrical substation (near the Shell gas station), where the medium-voltage system will undergo technological renovation with the replacement of conventional cells by new SF6 technology insulated cells, along with the addition of a new transformation bay to reinforce the facility's auxiliary services. This action, with an investment of €660,692, aims to increase the reliability and operational safety of the electrical supply, reduce maintenance needs, and adapt the facility to current technological standards without altering its capacity.
The second license authorizes the expansion of the high-voltage system at the transformer substation in the Llano Mazuelos industrial estate, with an investment of €291,667. The project includes the construction of a new 66 kV line output position towards Alcaudete, the expansion of the existing gantry, adaptation of the remote control system, and the implementation of new fiber optic communications. This intervention is preparatory for the future connection with the new line from Alcaudete, contributing to improved electrical system stability and supply guarantee for the municipality.
The City Council positively assesses the electric company's investment commitment, noting that these actions will enhance the quality of supply for citizens and the local business community. Concurrently, the Council maintains its demand to the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and Red Eléctrica Española for the state's electrical planning to include the expansion or construction of a new substation in Llano Mazuelos, a strategic infrastructure to ensure the municipality's industrial and economic development.
