The competition will feature men's and women's national teams from eight countries: Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Canada. The event, supported by the Jaén Provincial Council, will also take place in the Granada municipalities of Armilla and Ogíjares.
The tournament will bring together 320 athletes across 18 teams. The format includes an initial group stage, with the top teams advancing to the semifinals, scheduled for July 16 in the province of Granada. The tournament concludes on July 17 in Alcalá la Real with the finals and bronze medal matches.
“"Alcalá la Real will become the European epicenter of field hockey for a few days."
Organizers emphasize that the event serves as both a sporting milestone and an economic boost for the region. The influx of participants and visitors is expected to stimulate local hospitality, retail, and service sectors.
