Authorities have declared a forest fire in the municipality of Santa Elena, in the northern province of Jaén. The declaration has activated an emergency protocol, mobilizing numerous resources to combat the flames.
To tackle the fire, four groups of forest firefighters, an operations technician, and two environmental agents have been mobilized. The ground operation is complemented by a fire engine and a water tanker.
From the air, extinction efforts are supported by a medium-lift helicopter and two amphibious water bombers, which are reinforcing the efforts to control the flames.
