Andalusia is preparing for a new heatwave that will push thermometers up to 37 degrees in some areas, and are expected to approach 40 degrees in specific locations in the coming days. Following a recent thermal respite with highs around 29 degrees, temperatures are set to rise notably again.
The weekend will be characterized by stability and clear skies across most of the region. On Friday, temperatures will remain unchanged in the west but will decrease elsewhere, with highs forecast at 27 degrees in Cadiz and 38 degrees in Cordoba.
Saturday is expected to present a similar scenario, with cloudiness in the eastern inland mountains and a chance of occasional afternoon storms. Elsewhere, skies will remain clear. A slight thermal increase is anticipated, with a rise of at least one degree in maximum temperatures.
By Sunday, skies will be mostly clear, except for the eastern inland areas where occasional afternoon showers might occur. Temperatures will exceed 35 degrees in many locations, while Cadiz, Almeria, and Malaga will stay around 30 degrees. Aemet has issued yellow alerts for high temperatures in the provinces of Jaen and Cordoba.
The upward trend will continue next week, with a more pronounced temperature increase. The heatwave is expected to extend through the middle of the week, pushing minimum temperatures above 20 degrees and maximums, which are predicted to surpass 40 degrees in Seville, Cordoba, and Jaen.
