The Seville team, self-proclaimed as “la banda del Proin” (the Proin gang), has completed an exceptional season, exceeding all initial expectations. The project, which began with the goal of ascending to the second division, has made rapid progress, reaching the elite of Spanish handball in record time.
The club's management has praised the work and dedication of coach Víctor Montesinos, who has guided the team from the third division to the Asobal League. The cohesion and effort of the group of players are also highlighted, as they have maintained the lead in a very demanding competition since matchday 13 or 14.
“"It's historic. To have the possibility of seeing a Barça, Granollers, or Logroño at home… is an immense joy. And also for the young players coming up, juniors or players who aspire to play in Asobal, they will no longer have to leave Seville. They now have their place here."
This promotion represents a significant milestone for Seville sports, offering local young talents the opportunity to develop in the top category without having to leave the city. The club has also placed a strong emphasis on developing its youth academy, working to ensure that future generations have the chance to play in Asobal.
The team will continue to play its matches at the Amate pavilion, after reaching an agreement with the IMD, which has provided support throughout the season. The club's management invites fans to attend the decisive match this Saturday and encourages Seville businesses to support this sports project.
