This May 1st, the Club Náutico Sevilla and the Guadalquivir river dock will become the epicenter of Andalusian swimming. The competition, which includes infant, junior, absolute, and Master categories, highlights Seville's growing importance in the regional sports calendar.
The program will be divided into two main segments. In the morning, the 24th edition of the Andalucía Absolute Championship will take place, with the 5,000-meter individual race as the main event. Starts are scheduled for 10:00 AM for the men's category and five minutes later for women, preceded by training sessions starting at 8:30 AM.
Subsequently, from 1:00 PM, the 4x1,250-meter mixed relays will be held, concluding the morning program before the medal ceremony.
In the afternoon, the focus will shift to the Andalucía Master Championship, celebrating its 17th edition with a significant participation of nearly 200 swimmers. Participants in this category will tackle a 3,000-meter distance and also compete in the mixed relays.
The selection of Club Náutico Sevilla as the venue reflects the boom in open water swimming events in the city, driven by initiatives such as the Brazadas Solidarias circuit, linked to the Vicente Ferrer Foundation. Under the name of Travesía del Guadalquivir, Seville has established an organizational model that attracts high-level regional competitions, strengthening its position in the Andalusian sports scene.
