The municipal delegate for Sports, Bernardo Crespo, has assessed the start of the 2026/2027 sports season, highlighting the high participation and the smooth functioning of the sports schools and the covered municipal swimming pool. The pool has 929 users out of 1,075 offered places, while the sports schools have 657 registered participants out of 687 available spots. Crespo explained that although there are waiting lists for certain times, there are still free slots in other periods.
The municipal official expressly thanked the work of the professionals, coordinators, caretakers, and maintenance staff of the Sports Area, whose efforts have allowed for the adjustment of schedules and places to meet the needs of users and staff. He also underlined that the municipal offering runs from early morning until night in facilities such as the El Fuerte Sports Complex, the Ciudad Deportiva, the sports center on the El Burgo road, the La Dehesa pavilion, and the facilities in the San Francisco neighborhood. Municipal activities are complemented by the loan of spaces to sports clubs and associations, as well as collaboration with the institutes Martín Rivero, Rodríguez Delgado, and Gonzalo Huesa for educational activities.
Crespo pointed out that, in addition to the more than 1,500 users of the municipal sports schools, aimed at children and young people between 5 and 16 years old, there are over 1,500 other athletes linked to clubs and associations who use the municipal facilities. Among the entities developing their activities in these spaces are CD Ronda, the Athletics School, Club Harman, Team MAD, Pincho Level Up, KM1, the Petanca Club, CB Arunda Hawks, and the Jiu Jitsu Club Ronda, among others from various disciplines.
The delegate emphasized that the high demand, the experience of the professionals, and the effort to maintain affordable prices contribute to consolidating sports practice in Ronda and its region.
