The activity, held at Cortijo Don Elías, aims to raise awareness about women's participation in sports, professions, and fields such as science, technology, engineering, construction, and mechanics. The mayor of Mijas and head of the department, Ana Mata, presented this educational initiative, emphasizing its innovative nature and contribution to equity.
Ana Mata explained that the initiative stems from International Day of the Girl and seeks to make girls and adolescents aware of existing opportunities and how to seize them, ensuring their gender does not limit their aspirations. "'Inspiring Girls' shows us the path for the full development of girls and adolescents, without fears or obstacles," stated the mayor.
The campaign features the experience of María José Pérez, Málaga ambassador for 'Inspiring Girls Andalucía', and a group of professional women who share their experiences to serve as role models. "Aware that equal opportunities are not yet fully implemented in real life, organizations like 'Inspiring Girls' are dedicated to bringing women from all professions closer to girls to be their role models," informed the entity's representative.
The social and educational initiative 'Inspiring Girls' was launched in Madrid in 2016 and connects minors with female role models through inspiring talks. It is organized in educational centers through the 'Back to School' program and 'speed networking' events, as well as panels and conferences at corporate events.
