The month of August begins in Malaga with intense cruise activity, anticipating 23 calls by 19 different ships. These figures represent a slight increase compared to the same period last year, consolidating the eighth month of the year as one of the most prolific for cruise visits in recent years, surpassing the 2025 record.
Among the vessels visiting Malaga's docks, notable large ships include the Arvia from P&O Cruises, measuring 345 meters, making it the largest. On the other hand, the Seven Seas Navigator from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, at 170 meters, will be the smallest visiting Malaga this August. The MSC Opera will make the most stops, with three scheduled visits, followed by the Arvia and the Silver Muse, both with two calls.
The cruise activity will partially coincide with the Malaga Fair, with the port receiving seven tourist ship visits during these dates. Friday, August 21st, will be particularly busy, with four ships congregating in the port, including two from the same company.
A significant aspect of this August is the arrival of five cruise ships that begin their itineraries in the United Kingdom. These ships, making a total of six calls (one will repeat), such as the Arvia (twice), Celebrity Apex, Sky Princess, Ambience, and MSC Virtuosa, will bring thousands of British tourists, as most of these vessels can accommodate over 3,500 passengers at maximum capacity.
