The Local Government Board of Nerja has approved the request for the E.O.E., which had been operating in the town since 1986, to return and be located in the Training and Employment Center. This measure aims to fulfill the initial commitment to return after the temporary relocation, which was prompted by the demolition of its former headquarters at the Giner de los Ríos Center.
This multidisciplinary team consists of specialized professionals who provide external support to early childhood and primary education centers. Their work is crucial for psychopedagogical evaluation, attention to diversity, and the detection of specific educational support needs (NEAE), in addition to collaborating with teachers on tutoring and guidance tasks.
“"The return of the E.O.E. will allow us to offer a more accessible, effective, and closer service to families."
The Councillor for Education has emphasized the importance of this service, especially in a municipality with seven primary and two secondary schools, and which has seen an increase in the number of students with special educational needs. The proximity of the guidance team is vital to ensure agile and coordinated attention for students, their families, and the educational centers themselves, avoiding the difficulties caused by the current distance to Torrox.
With this request, the Town Council seeks to strengthen local educational resources and respond to a growing demand, in a context where personalized and specialized attention has become a fundamental pillar of the educational system.
