The event, presented by the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Rivas; the district mayor of Maro, Nuchi Moreno; and the founding partner of the Nerja Athletics Club, Enrique López Cuenca, aims to encourage participation from runners of all ages.
Daniel Rivas highlighted the event's established place in the athletic calendar and encouraged participation, stating, "We are looking at one of the most significant and consolidated sporting events in our athletic calendar, which also brings together runners of different ages each year. From the City Council, we encourage participation and hope everyone enjoys a great afternoon of athletics in the streets of Maro."
For her part, Nuchi Moreno emphasized the race's deep roots in local festivities, remarking, "It is a much-loved event by the people of Maro and a tradition that has been part of our festivals for almost four decades. It is a joy to see the streets of Maro full of runners, families, and athletics fans once again, kicking off very special days for our town."
Enrique López Cuenca detailed that four races will be held starting at 6:30 PM, with distances adapted for the Sub-8 (400 meters), Sub-10 (800 meters), Sub-12 (1,600 meters), and Sub-16 (2,400 meters) categories.
Registrations are now open through the Nerja Athletics Club website and will also be possible on the day of the race, up to one hour before it begins, at the Plaza de la Iglesia de las Maravillas.
