The incident occurred shortly before 9:00 PM on Friday, when several residents alerted the 112 emergency service about smoke coming from a house on Valdepeñas street in Torre del Mar, and the possibility of people being trapped inside.
The coordination center immediately dispatched the firefighters, Local and National Police, and the 061 Health Emergencies Center (CES). Medical personnel confirmed the transfer of four individuals to the Axarquía Hospital: a 61-year-old man and three women aged 70, 74, and 75.
Firefighters indicated that the apartment block was evacuated as a precaution. It is believed that the fire originated in a room on the ground floor of the building.
