The 'Andrés Segovia' Professional Music Conservatory in Linares is launching a new edition of MusicColes, an initiative that since its inception in 2019 has strengthened the intellectual and emotional development of young people. This project has reached over 7,000 schoolchildren in the city and its region throughout its seven editions, and in 2026, it will take a step forward by integrating artistic education with local historical legacy.
For this upcoming edition, MusicColes will transform into an immersive experience directly linked to the Iberian-Roman Festivals of Cástulo. Thanks to the collaboration of the Tourism Department of Linares City Council, the activity will recreate an atmosphere evoking this deeply rooted festivity, using music as a bridge between the past and the present. The main goal for 2026 is to foster participatory environments where schoolchildren can express their emotions and strengthen their sense of belonging to the community through creativity.
The initiative is strongly supported by the Department of Childhood, Family, Disability and Education, aligning with the objectives of the Local Plan for Childhood and Adolescence. By bringing arts to early ages, MusicColes becomes an essential tool for the social and cultural development of children. With the anticipated participation of nearly 1,000 schoolchildren, along with students and teachers from the Conservatory, the project is positioned as one of the most significant events on the city's educational and musical agenda for this year.
