La Vuelta a España will once again feature a stage finish in the province of Jaén in its 2026 edition. The fourteenth stage, scheduled for Saturday, September 5th, will start from the provincial capital and conclude at the emblematic Alto de la Pandera, a climb that has been the scene of memorable moments in the history of the Spanish cycling tour.

The president of the Provincial Council, Paco Reyes, along with the general director of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén, presented the stage, highlighting its importance as a showcase for territorial promotion. Guillén described the ascent to La Pandera as "a tough and spectacular climb," and a "brand of La Vuelta."

The stage will pass through several towns in Jaén, including Mancha Real, Torres, La Guardia de Jaén, Los Villares, Fuensanta de Martos, Castillo de Locubín, and Valdepeñas de Jaén. It will include two second-category climbs, Los Villares and Locubín, before the final ascent to Alto de la Pandera, classified as first category.

This will be the seventh time that Alto de la Pandera hosts a stage finish in the history of La Vuelta. The collaboration between the Provincial Council of Jaén and Unipublic, the race organizer, has been crucial in securing the tour's presence in the province, which has featured on the route in 14 of the last 20 editions.

La Vuelta a España 2026 will take place between August 22nd and September 13th, starting from Monaco and finishing in Granada. The province of Jaén thus consolidates itself as a key destination for elite cycling, hosting renowned events such as the Ruta del Sol-Vuelta a Andalucía and the Andalucía Bike Race.
