“"This summer our municipal pools are achieving the best numbers in their history. In just over a month, more people have passed through here than during entire summer seasons in some previous years. Behind these figures is a determined commitment to improving our pools and enormous daily work by all the staff at the Sports Board, and although there is still much to do, we are on the right track."

Jaén's municipal swimming pools have exceeded all expectations this summer, attracting 71,229 users between June and the end of July, representing a significant 57.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
This substantial rise, adding 25,987 more swimmers than in 2025, is attributed to a combination of factors promoted by the Jaén City Council, through the Municipal Sports Board. Key measures include advancing the facilities' opening to June 6, general infrastructure improvements, and the innovative ‘Viernes Noche en La Salobreja’ (Friday Night at La Salobreja) campaign, which has extended enjoyment of this pool until midnight on several occasions.
The Las Fuentezuelas pool remains the preferred choice for Jaén residents, hosting 42,300 visitors. It is followed by La Salobreja with 21,040 users, and the recently renovated El Tomillo pool, which has welcomed 7,889 people.
The Sports Councilor, Beatriz López, highlighted the success of these initiatives, emphasizing the team's dedication and the positive reception from the public, which complements the improvements and good weather. López particularly thanked the Sports Board staff for their work in ensuring the service's normality, safety, and quality.
The ‘Viernes Noche en La Salobreja’ campaign has been a major novelty, extending operating hours until 00:00 on Fridays in July and August without changing the entrance fee. This initiative, launched on July 17, has allowed citizens to enjoy the pool in a different way, complemented by a renovated bar service and enhanced security.
The pools maintain uninterrupted opening hours from 11:00 to 20:00, with prices unchanged from the previous season: 4.20 euros for general admission. Reduced rates of 50% (2.10 euros) are available for the unemployed, children under 10, and large families, with even lower rates (1.05 euros) for special large families, individuals over 65, and people with disabilities. Discounted season passes are also available.
Regarding capacity, El Tomillo can accommodate 200 people, La Salobreja 592, and Las Fuentezuelas 1,690.
