The pre-festival schedule, starting on September 1st, will open this Thursday, August 20th, with the opening speech delivered by the mayor of Grazalema, Carlos García. The event will be held at the Blas Infante Auditorium at 9:00 PM and will feature a performance by the group Los Alpresa.
The Councilor for Festivals, Rebeca Muñoz, emphasized that it will be a "very special" opening speech, recalling the welcome extended to residents of Grazalema earlier in the year and the importance of inter-municipal collaboration. This year's Fair will see the return of its bullfighting events, including the Novillada, Rejones, and Goyesca Corrida, following the completion of the bullring's renovation. The Exhibition of Harnesses Competition will also be held.
The program includes various cultural and festive activities. On Saturday, August 22nd, the LVI Festival de Cante Grande de Ronda will take place at the Murallas del Carmen. On Monday, August 24th, the President and the Goyesca Ladies will visit various community groups. On Wednesday, August 26th, an exhibition of shawls and mantillas by Rosario Solís will open at the Convento de Santo Domingo.
The LII Folkloric Galas will commence on Thursday, August 27th, with an inauguration and parade, and will continue on Friday, August 28th, and Saturday, August 29th, at the Blas Infante Auditorium, featuring delegations from Easter Island, Ciudad Real, Mexico, France, India, and Ronda. On Sunday, August 30th, a floral offering to Pedro Romero will be made, along with a visit to the Patron Saint of Ronda.
The Fair Parade will take place on Tuesday, September 1st, starting from Jerez Street. On Wednesday, September 2nd, Miguel Campello ‘El Bicho’ will perform at the Ángel Harillo Fairgrounds. On Thursday, September 3rd, the XVII Equestrian Attire and Harness Competition will be held.
The bullfighting events are scheduled for Friday, September 4th, with a Novillada Sin Picadores and the X Goyesca Bullfighting Pregón by Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo. On Saturday, September 5th, the Ronda Rejones Corrida and the Traditional Goyesca Corrida will take place. The fair will conclude on Sunday, September 6th, with the XLVI Ronda Exhibition of Harnesses Competition.
