The urban development project will reclaim over two kilometers in the northern area, adjacent to the Renfe station. The plan includes the creation of a boulevard with walking paths and over 50,000 square meters of green space.
To improve urban connectivity, several walkways will be installed, including a mixed-use structure on Avenida de Arjona for both pedestrians and road traffic. Additionally, ADIF will upgrade the tracks to accommodate high-speed trains connecting Jaén to Madrid.
The work schedule indicates that the preliminary project will be completed by September, with the final project expected in 2027. The working group, which includes the Junta de Andalucía and the Ministry of Transport, is currently reviewing the intermodality component to ensure alignment with the General Municipal Urban Plan.
