The University of Huelva is preparing for the XXVI edition of its Open Days, a well-established event designed to facilitate students' transition to university life. This initiative, taking place from April 14 to 17, is primarily aimed at students in their final year of Baccalaureate and Higher Vocational Training, providing academic and vocational guidance at a crucial point in their educational journey.
Organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Students as part of the institutional RUMBO UHU program, the event involves various faculties, the Higher Technical School of Engineering, university services, and the Student Representation Council. This joint participation reinforces the comprehensive nature of an activity that reflects the commitment of the entire university community.
An estimated 2,500 to 3,000 students from across the province of Huelva are expected to visit the El Carmen and La Merced campuses over the four days. Participants will attend informative talks on the PAU 2026, pre-registration processes, and take guided tours, in addition to exploring the Exhibition Fair. A total of 170 university students will collaborate as guides, playing a key role in welcoming and accompanying visitors.
One of the main novelties of this edition is the inclusion of specific activities for families, which will take place on Wednesday, April 15, in the afternoon. An informative talk on access, admission, scholarships, and university procedures will be held in the Jacobo del Barco Auditorium, followed by a visit to the Exhibition Fair. With this measure, the UHU aims to involve the family environment in the academic decision-making process of the students.
The organizers emphasize that the primary objective of these days is to inform, guide, and support students in their access to university, while also serving as an opportunity to learn firsthand about the educational offerings, facilities, and resources available at the institution. The UHU thus reinforces its role as an accessible and welcoming space for the educational community.
