The Juan Ramón Jiménez University Hospital, part of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS), has activated four new elevators located on both sides of the main entrance hall. These lifts provide direct access to key units such as oncology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and electrophysiology.
The comprehensive renovation of these elevators has been carried out progressively in one of the hospital's busiest areas for patients and families, ensuring more agile, safe, and efficient mobility in crucial points of the center's daily operations.
This structural improvement is part of a total investment of 1,140,000 euros for the complete replacement of seven elevators. The new equipment features advanced technology, increased capacity, universal accessibility systems, stainless steel construction for easy cleaning, and a modern design adapted to current mobility needs.
One of the renovated elevators is located at the Vázquez Díaz Hospital, an affiliated facility, and is a large stretcher lift. Its lifting capacity has been extended to an additional floor, enhancing access to the Gynecology consultation area and the Assisted Reproduction Unit.
Furthermore, construction has begun to renovate two more elevators at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital, located in the service area and intended for transporting various types of waste generated in the center's different units.
All dismantling, necessary construction, and installation tasks for the new equipment are carried out in a programmed manner to cause the least possible disruption to patients, families, and staff during their execution, always ensuring the availability of alternative elevators in nearby areas.
The hospital's management plans the progressive renovation of elevators in both hospital centers, prioritizing those with the highest usage and considering reasons of energy efficiency and comfort.
These actions are part of the infrastructure improvement plan for the Juan Ramón Jiménez University Hospital, reinforcing its commitment to comfort and accessibility in high-traffic common areas.
