According to provisional figures released by the National Statistics Institute (INE), 4,744 deaths were recorded in the province last year. Of this total, 2,528 deaths were linked to these two conditions, representing 53.2% of all deaths.
Circulatory system conditions caused 1,270 deaths, accounting for 26.7% of the total. Within this group, cerebrovascular diseases were the most frequent, with 318 cases. Meanwhile, tumors caused 1,258 deaths, or 26.5% of the total, with tracheal, bronchial, and lung cancer standing out as the most lethal, claiming 274 lives.
Other causes of mortality recorded significantly lower incidences, all remaining below 10% of cases. Among them, respiratory system diseases totaled 448 deaths, followed by diseases of the nervous system and sense organs, which caused 332 deaths.
The statistical report also includes 204 deaths from external causes, including accidental falls and other incidents. Additionally, 170 deaths were attributed to endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases, while infectious and parasitic diseases caused 97 deaths in the Huelva region during 2025.
