The events date back to March 2025, when the disappearance of state-of-the-art equipment from the cultural venue was reported. The perpetrators acted with a particularly careful method, causing no damage to the facilities, which suggested a profile with technical knowledge in the audiovisual field.
The investigation, carried out by the Investigation Area of the Civil Guard of Mairena del Aljarafe, identified a van allegedly used in the robbery. This finding was crucial to track the lead to the province of Huelva, where the vehicle was linked to two individuals residing in the area.
The operation culminated in the municipality of Gibraleón, where agents located the place where the stolen material was stored. The inquiries also confirmed that the investigated individuals had a professional relationship with the image and sound sector.

The operation, named Maharana Island, has allowed for the full recovery of the stolen equipment, valued at over 36,000 euros. The material has already been returned to the Palomares del Río City Council for its re-commissioning. The proceedings have been forwarded to the competent judicial authority.
