The meeting was held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Sports Sciences, located on the Carmen campus. During the session, the 'pathfinders' were welcomed by Mariló Guzmán, Vice-Rector for Students, and Mª Jesús Rojas, Director of Student Participation, who expressed their gratitude for the participants' involvement and enthusiasm.
“"The work of this volunteer team is essential, playing a key role in guiding and accompanying students from educational centers who visit the University."
Both officials emphasized the importance of the volunteers in showcasing university life and the facilities of the UHU firsthand. The session was led by Laura Fernández, a technician from the University Community Support Service (SACU), who provided a detailed explanation of the functions and organization of tasks for the event. An additional coordination meeting has been scheduled before the activities begin to finalize all preparations.
The initial meeting featured significant representation from students across all degree programs and academic years at the University of Huelva, covering fields from experimental and technical sciences to social sciences, humanities, and health studies. This broad diversity highlights the commitment of students from Huelva to promoting their institution and its openness to society, actively serving as ambassadors for the UHU.
The Open Days are one of the most emblematic events at the University of Huelva, designed to bring the institution closer to students from Second Year Baccalaureate and Higher Level Vocational Training from schools in Huelva and its province. The main objective is to present the academic offerings, available services, and distinctive values that characterize the UHU.
