The cultural agenda in the capital of Huelva is reactivated with proposals for all tastes, taking place in emblematic venues such as the Gran Teatro and the Casa Colón. Among the highlighted activities, the Igualdad film forum will present the film The Perfect Candidate, directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour, on Wednesday at the Gota de Leche. This 2019 work addresses a Saudi woman's struggle against her society's patriarchal norms.
Music will play a significant role with the return of Huelva artist Penélope Watson to the Gran Teatro on Thursday, April 9, where she will present her new single Que les den, marking her return to rock. The Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform at the Casa Colón Auditorium as part of the Andalucía Sinfónica project, an initiative that seeks to bring symphonic music to the entire autonomous community. The Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra will also participate on April 18.
Theater will feature the premiere of Ea, the latest work by Huelva actor Julio Fraga, on Friday, April 10, at the Gran Teatro. Written and directed by Ana Cristina Leal, this grotesque and dark comedy invites reflection on feelings and death, presented as a tribute to loved ones. Later, on April 24, Ana Torrent will star in The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, another proposal from the Igualdad program.
Painting will also have its space with the exhibition Minas de Riotinto, a display of oil paintings by Gerardo Pita inspired by the mining landscape, which can be visited in the Sala de Brazos of the Casa Colón from April 16 to 29. Humor will arrive with the Gamba Fest, from April 16 to 19, bringing together prominent national comedians such as Carlos Sans, Goyo Jiménez, and Susi Caramelo, along with Huelva talents like Mario Peña and Marcos Arizmendi.
To close the month, on April 30, the Huelva Municipal Symphonic Band will offer the concert Ritmos de Nuestra Tierra at the Casa Colón Auditorium, with the special participation of timpanist Cristina Llorens and the absolute premiere of Ilustres Cordobeses by José Luis Mingo Ballesteros. On the same day, the Gran Teatro will host Instrucciones para sobrevivir en lo oscuro, a black comedy by Juan Vinuesa, Vito Sanz, Font García, and Chiqui Carabante.
Tickets for all these events are available for purchase through the official website www.entradas.huelva.es and at the Gran Teatro box office, with opening hours from Monday to Friday.
