Recent data indicates that the number of jobless people in Granada fell by 3.58% in April, translating to 6,076 fewer unemployed individuals compared to a year ago. This reduction occurs amidst an increase in Social Security contributors, although with a decrease in the signing of new contracts.

By sector, the reduction in unemployment was widespread. The services sector led the decline with 1,497 fewer people, followed by the group of individuals without prior employment, which saw 542 fewer job seekers. Construction, agriculture, and industry also showed decreases in the number of unemployed.

Despite the improved unemployment figures, hiring in Granada experienced a significant setback in April, with 5,111 fewer contracts than in March, representing a 17.11% decrease. Of the total labor agreements signed, 9,534 were permanent, a figure that also declined compared to the previous month and the same period last year.

In contrast to the fall in contracts, the number of Social Security contributors in the province increased by 1,724 people in April, reaching a total of 376,813 registered individuals. This figure represents 6,023 more contributors than a year ago, reflecting a positive trend in affiliation.
