The winning ticket was sold at Mercagranada, the city's wholesale market, by Pepe Camero, an ONCE vendor since 2016. The luck has reached a clientele described as "loyal and very hardworking."
Camero expressed his great joy at being able to distribute this prize, joking about the possibility that "those who build the sidewalks also get something." The vendor, who starts his day at 4 in the morning, confessed he couldn't believe the news with his wife.
The lucky winner matched five numbers and one sun, falling just one complementary number short of the 59 million euro jackpot offered in this European draw.
For the upcoming Tuesday, the Eurojackpot, sold in Spain along with 18 other European Economic Area countries, will offer a jackpot of 68 million euros.
