In an event held in Granada, Juanma Moreno brought together the 109 members of the eight provincial candidacies of the Popular Party for the upcoming regional elections. The gathering, which took place at the Hotel Barceló Congress, served to outline the campaign's main objectives, highlighting the PP's vision as "the party of Andalusia" and the need to "win the hearts and feelings of Andalusians" over the next six weeks.
“"Today we present a great team of men and women with capacity, experience, enthusiasm, and dedication. We present a way of understanding politics, with seriousness, respect, vocation for public service... ambitious candidates, Andalusians participating in the transformation of Andalusia."
Moreno, who leads the list for Málaga, urged his colleagues to show sensitivity and empathy towards citizens' problems, asking them to "cry for their land." He also called for a "clean, positive campaign, with proposals and enthusiasm," five weeks before the election.
During his speech, the popular candidate defended his government's management, highlighting Andalusia's economic growth above the Spanish average and the reduction of unemployment. He criticized the PSOE's intention to reinstate the Inheritance and Gift Tax, calling it "a mistake" that would harm Andalusian families.
Although not directly naming his opponents, Moreno alluded to María Jesús Montero and Manuel Gavira as rivals who, according to him, will seek to "break the stability" achieved in Andalusia. He stressed the importance of these elections to maintain a stable majority that allows the community's progress, avoiding situations of deadlock as experienced in other regions.
Finally, Moreno paid an emotional tribute to Olga Carrión, director of the Andalusian Women's Institute, who recently passed away, praising her dedication to the party and her fight for equality. The presented candidacies include members of the Andalusian Government such as Ramón Fernández-Pacheco for Almería, Antonio Sanz for Cádiz, Antonio Repullo for Córdoba, Rocío Díaz for Granada, Loles López for Huelva, Catalina García for Jaén, and Patricia del Pozo for Sevilla, among others.
