Cooperation between the Junta de Andalucía and the Linares City Council has resulted in an investment of 187 million euros since 2019, as highlighted by delegate Erik Domínguez and mayoress Auxi del Olmo.

The delegate of the Junta de Andalucía Government in Jaén, Erik Domínguez, praised the collaboration between the regional administration and the Linares City Council, calling it a "perfect institutional binomial" after a working meeting with the mayoress, Auxi del Olmo. This coordination, in place since 2019, has channeled 187 million euros into strategic projects to revitalize Linares' economy and society.
Among the most notable actions is the boost to the Santana Transport Science and Technology Park. The Junta facilitated the land transfer and invested nearly 16 million euros to attract companies, establishing the enclave as a driver of local reindustrialization. Concurrently, the construction of the wastewater treatment plant (EDAR) has been completed, with an investment of 6 million euros, and final procedures are underway for its service entry in October. This step is crucial for the subsequent water reuse project for the irrigation community, valued at another 10 million euros.
In terms of transport infrastructure, Domínguez confirmed that the planned railway shutdown in September on the Madrid-Cádiz line will allow the Junta to continue work on reconnecting the Vadollano branch to the state network, with funds allocated in the regional budgets. Investment in transport infrastructure also includes over 4 million euros for the first phase of remodeling the La Garza Sports Park, 3 million for the visitor center and the guardhouse of the archaeological site of Cástulo, as well as training collaboration with the Linares Public Safety School (ESPLi).
Mayoress Auxi del Olmo emphasized the "good relationship" and "close collaboration" between both administrations, which facilitates the implementation of "large-scale projects" for the city. "We have a lot of work ahead, and we have discussed some of the most important issues to see their status and give them momentum," she stated, thanking the Government delegate for his "great support" and "good predisposition" towards Linares.
