Employees of the Granada Metro have again called for partial strikes due to a lack of progress in negotiations with the concessionaire company, Avanza. The staff are demanding salary increases and "dignified working conditions" to be included in the collective agreement.
This is the third strike to affect the service this year. Previous strikes took place in May and early June, coinciding with Corpus Christi week. After a truce, negotiations remain stalled, leading to the call for this new wave of protests.
The strikes will take place in three daily time slots during the first two weeks of July, with minimum services set at 50% by the Regional Ministry of Employment, Enterprise, and Self-Employment. The Metro will operate normally on the weekend of July 4th and 5th.
The specific dates and times for the strikes are as follows: July 1 (07:00-09:30, 13:00-15:30, 18:30-21:00), July 2 (07:30-10:00, 13:30-16:00, 19:00-21:30), July 3 (07:00-09:30, 13:00-15:30, 19:30-22:00), July 6 (07:30-10:00, 13:30-16:00, 19:00-21:30), July 7 (07:00-09:30, 13:00-15:30, 18:30-21:00), July 8 (07:30-10:00, 13:30-16:00, 19:00-21:30), July 9 (07:00-09:30, 13:00-15:30, 18:30-21:00), July 10 (07:30-10:00, 13:30-16:00, 19:30-22:00), July 13 (07:00-09:30, 13:00-15:30, 18:30-21:00), July 14 (07:30-10:00, 13:30-16:00, 19:00-21:30), and July 15 (07:00-09:30, 13:00-15:30, 19:30-22:00).
