This Friday, the Andalusian capital will immerse itself in an intense cultural day, coinciding with the Book Fair, located between the Fuente de las Batallas, Carrera de la Virgen, and Fuente de las Granadas, where various book signings will take place.
Starting in the morning, the program includes a wide variety of proposals. In the Paseo del Salón, security and emergency forces will offer workshops and demonstrations of their work, along with a vehicle exhibition. Simultaneously, artisan markets will be set up in the Mirador de San Nicolás, the Paseo de los Tristes, and the Plaza Isabel la Católica, highlighting the participation of local artisans and women entrepreneurs.
Music will be a protagonist in every corner of Granada. The Colegio Ave María Casa Madre will host the Municipal Symphonic Band of Atarfe with the musical tale The Little Prince, while the Museo Casa de los Tiros will vibrate with the Nasrid folk of the Trío Darach. The Plaza de las Pasiegas will be the stage for performances by the Municipal Music Band, the Lucía Guarnido Dance School, and the Tango Association 'Milonga de la Glorieta'. Additionally, several choirs will gather in the Patio del Ayuntamiento and the Plaza de la Universidad, and there will be jazz and blues sessions in the Placeta Cauchiles, as well as electronic music with a DJ in the Huerto del Carlos.
The city's most emblematic monuments will open their doors for free, although with limited capacity or prior reservation. These include the Carmen de los Mártires, the Capilla Real, the Cathedral, and the Casa Museo Manuel de Falla. A guided tour of the Albaicín from Plaza Nueva will also be offered.
The Local Police will also actively participate, exhibiting their vehicles and resources in Plaza Nueva, and conducting activities such as drone flights and demonstrations by their canine unit. Scientific dissemination will have its space at the Parque de las Ciencias with the miniFEST, and the Archaeological and Ethnological Museum of Granada will organize 'The Night of Enigmas in the Museum'.
For those who enjoy evening strolls and gastronomy, activities such as a game through the historic center with Urbex Mistery, a Gastronomic Route through Granada's Viewpoints, and an Influencers Commercial Route have been planned. This comprehensive program, framed within Granada's bid for the European Capital of Culture in 2031, promises an unforgettable evening.
