The 'Al Alimón' Wine Tasting in the Patio de Columnas of the Municipal Palace launched the second week of activities for the Circumnavigation Month in Sanlúcar. The event, organized by the City Council with the Círculo de Artesanos and the beach bar La Orilla, combines enology, music, history, and nautical themes to commemorate the First World Circumnavigation.
Mayor Carmen Álvarez attended the tasting, described as "flavors that unite tradition, land, and friendship," presented by César Saldaña, current president of the Regulatory Council of the Denominations of Origin Jerez-Xérès-Sherry and Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and Jorge Pascual, a Sanlúcar expert and former president of the entity.
The week's program includes on Tuesday, September 8, the guitar and orchestra concert of Medea and Tauromagia by Manolo Sanlúcar at the Municipal Auditorium ‘Manolo Sanlúcar’. On Wednesday, September 9, a guided cultural and heritage tour of the historic center will depart from the headquarters of the Círculo de Artesanos, and a paired tasting of Victoria Beers will take place at La Orilla.
On Thursday, September 10, the Centro Cultural La Victoria will host the conference 'Salamanca and the cosmology of the nautical sphere and imperial cartographies' by Pedro Insua, as part of the XI Forum ‘Sanlúcar and the Oceans’. On Saturday, September 12, the Bajo de Guía area will feature a gathering of historic Citroën 2CV vehicles and the 'Voces que navegan' habaneras concert.
The week will conclude on Sunday, September 13, with the 'Bautismo de Mar' (Sea Baptism) in Bajo de Guía, a free nautical day for children, and in the afternoon, guitarist Manolo Franco will perform at La Orilla.
