The works will concentrate on a 2.1-kilometer segment of the road, specifically from kilometer point 7+000. Key actions include pavement rehabilitation, optimization of the drainage system, and stabilization of slopes.
This intervention is a direct response to the damage caused by heavy rainfall in the province, which led to landslides, silting of wells, and the collapse of the existing drainage infrastructure.
“"The current state of the road presents "risks to road safety due to the lack of water evacuation and the instability of certain slopes."
Planned technical measures include the comprehensive cleaning of ditches, pipes, and clogged wells along more than two kilometers of the road. Additionally, new concrete ditches will be constructed to prevent future flooding in the area.
The project also includes excavation, trimming, and reprofiling of slopes in deteriorated areas to prevent further landslides onto the roadway. The construction of riprap and gabion walls at critical points is foreseen to support the road platform. Furthermore, the removal and replacement of containment nets and reinforcements with concrete riprap in specific risk zones will be carried out.
