The traditional Fiesta de la Palmicha has left a significant amount of waste in the area surrounding the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Regla and the pine forest in general. The municipal delegate for Environment, Tano Guzmán, has shown his discontent after observing the state in which this natural environment awoke last Monday. The councilor has made a call to citizens to enjoy these spaces sustainably, respecting the environment and using the designated bins for waste disposal.
Guzmán highlighted the work carried out by the Environment brigade in cleaning and conserving various natural spaces and emblematic areas of the municipality, including the Pine Forest, beach access points, the dune system, and the facilities of the former municipal campsite. The municipal official thanked the staff assigned to this service, who on occasion also have the collaboration of workers from various employment plans.
Nevertheless, the Environment delegate insisted on the need for greater citizen collaboration to avoid situations like the one recorded after the Fiesta de la Palmicha. He recalled that currently only two people are carrying out these tasks, awaiting the incorporation of more staff from employment plans scheduled to be launched soon.
