The Virgen de Regla School in Chipiona has begun its traditional Franciscan Week today, which will run until Friday, October 2nd. This initiative marks a significant period for the entire educational community of the center.
Throughout the week, students will participate in various activities and dynamics designed to foster knowledge and deeper understanding of Saint Francis of Assisi, as well as the values of the Franciscan charism, which are fundamental to the school's identity.
The highlight of the celebration will be on Friday, October 2nd, the feast day of Saint Francis. The center has meticulously organized a special event at the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Regla at 9:15 AM, which will feature the school choir. As a commemorative gesture for the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis's passing, a special activity will take place. The day will conclude with the traditional procession of the Saint, led by the 4th year ESO students.
During the week, within regular school hours, numerous activities will be held, adapted for different ages and educational stages, from Infant and Primary to Secondary and Vocational Training. These will include research activities, storytelling, writing assignments, drawing contests, and the decoration of various school spaces with natural elements and student-created work.
The Virgen de Regla School has expressed its hope that this Franciscan Week will once again be an opportunity to share and live together fundamental values such as joy, peace, respect, care for nature, and fraternity, following the example of Saint Francis of Assisi.
